Rodney Youth Transitions

Rodney Youth Transitions links school leavers and job seekers aged 16 years to 24 years to paid employment with on-the-job training. Participants have the opportunity and ability to move into a Modern Apprenticeship or a similar industry training agreement. They learn about career options and gain skills necessary for securing successful employment.

There are currently 20 places left for residents within the Rodney District and the application process is easy.

  • Register as a job seeker with Work and Income (ph 0800559009).
  • Referral is received by REDT from Work & Income.
  • An initial interview takes place at REDT in Orewa.
  • If accepted you will go into a 4-6 week training programme enabling you to successfully transition into employment.
  • Training opportunities are arranged as appropriate.
  • Donna Dudley, the REDT co-ordinator, maintains regular contact with job seekers and REDT will continue 3 months of job support once employment is found.

The programme is funded by the Ministry of Social Development through Work and Income and managed by Rodney Economic Development Trust. For more information contact Donna Dudley, phone 09 427 9475 or email donna@bizrodney.com
